Flower Mound is a town of 75,956 people (2020 Census) in southern Denton County, with a small slice in Tarrant County, about 20 miles northwest of Dallas. It is mostly a community of single-family homes: in 2020, 71.2% of households were married couples and 43% included children. Many of those homes sit in planned subdivisions with homeowners associations. Wellington of Flower Mound, begun in 1995, has about 2,400 homes, and Canyon Falls on the west side is finishing its last village at about 795 residences. Most of the town is in Lewisville ISD, while western areas fall into Argyle, Denton or Northwest ISD and the Tarrant County portion into Grapevine-Colleyville ISD. There is no interstate inside town limits. Trucks reach the freeways by FM 2499 (Long Prairie Road) south to State Highway 121 and I-635, or by U.S. 377 on the western edge toward I-35W. Because many neighborhoods are HOA-governed, check your association's rules on truck parking and move hours before moving day. Green Van Lines, founded in 2007 as the first eco-friendly moving company in the US, handles long-distance moves out of DFW.
