Southlake is a Tarrant County city, with small areas in Denton County, that grew from farm settlements such as Dove and Whites Chapel into a suburb of 31,265 people at the 2020 Census. Most households here are families. Close to half have children under 18, and most students attend Carroll ISD, although parts of the city are in Keller ISD and Grapevine-Colleyville ISD. Southlake sits just northwest of DFW International Airport. State Highway 114 runs through the city past Southlake Town Square and the Solana business park, so it is the usual way out for a long-distance moving truck. Southlake regulates portable storage containers closely. A moving POD needs a city permit, has to sit on the driveway as far from the street as possible, and can stay no more than ten consecutive days. Green Van Lines has moved families out of Dallas–Fort Worth since 2007 and was the first eco-friendly moving company in the United States. We set the packing and loading schedule so that it fits within Southlake's rules.
