Packing Your Delicate LCD Or Flat Panel

There are several things that you will have to pack before finally stepping out forever. Your household is a combination of tough and delicate items. Packing strong wooden furniture or packing something like a pillow is not a big deal. Whereas packing an LCD Screen or a flat panel TV can be comparatively difficult. In both cases, the packing is very important to protect them from the shock of the journey.

To be on the safer side, I would always prefer to pack my belongings in the box that it came in. If you have the original box where it was packed earlier, then there is nothing to worry about. Place your LCD  Screen or the Flat Panel TV in the box along with the styrofoam that was originally placed at the side to prevent it from external jerks and you will be all set to move it safely.

But most of the time we throw out these boxes to reduce the amount of junk stored in the house without realizing the requirement of it in the future. If you too did something similar, don’t worry, we will assist you in packing your flat screen. Two people are always required to handle a flat screen TV.

Find a sturdy box bigger than your TV. You can get it from your local grocery or liquor store. If you know someone who has moved recently, then you can get several moving packing material from them.

Hold your TV in the upright position and wrap it with foam sheet twice. While you wrap it, stick the painters tape where ever required.

Place a piece of card board just on the screen and secure it with painters tape. This will give an extra protection to the delicate screen. If possible, cover the complete TV with cardboard and painters tape.

Layer the box with some soft towels and styrofoam. Insert the TV inside the box. The TV should not touch the sides of the box. Fill the gaps with towel and styrofoam again. The TV should sit tight in the box. Space in side of the box will allow the TV to move to and fro and hence jerks will damage the screen. Probably after the move you would either discover that the TV screen is broken or it is inoperable.

Caution: The packing steps are formulated for small distance move. For long distance, it is advisable to sell the one you have and buy a new one, after you reach the new destination
